Servn’ the City

Bringing people together to help Arizona families stay safely in their homes is a vital part of combatting the rising costs of home ownership. “The most affordable home is often the one people already have.  If we can help families stay healthy and safe in their own homes with affordable home improvements and repairs, then that is a home run for everyone says Habitat President and CEO, Jason Barlow.

Recently more than 200 students from Grand Canyon University showed up early on a Saturday morning to help another nine families in the Canyon Corridor neighborhood. Tasks included clean-up, landscaping and painting. Habitat for Humanity also serves in the neighborhoods surrounding GCU’s main campus by replacing old windows, making roof repairs and even air conditioning units.

Since announcing their partnership in 2015, Habitat and GCU have been able to affect more than a thousand repairs and serve more than 360 families in the Canyon Corridor neighborhood. Read more about this partnership here.
