All our homes are built to Energy Star standards. Energy Star homes are typically 20-30% more energy efficient than homes built to standard residential building code.

What is LEED®?

LEED® (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) for Homes

Fall 2008, Habitat was the first Habitat affiliate to build a LEED® Platinum Certified home. The practice of building sustainable homes goes hand-in-hand in affordable housing as increased efficiency of the home reduces costs to the homeowner throughout the life of the home.

Features of a LEED® certified home include:

  • Improved Indoor Air Quality
  • Durability of Construction
  • Minimized Environmental Footprint
  • Increased Water Efficiency
  • Improved Energy Efficiency
