Habitat Homeownership

The Family Services Department works directly with prospective and current Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona homeowners. We are often the first contact prospective homeowners have with Habitat. Therefore, we strive to ensure that every family has a positive and pleasant experience.

The staff assists prospective homeowners through the application process, during the construction of their home, and after move-in. After the initial screening, a home visit is scheduled. Once the qualification process is complete families will be notified in writing. Once selected, the first 100 “sweat equity” hours begin. Families are expected to complete “Financial Fitness” classes and “Homebuyer Education” classes.

Purchasing a home can be a very exciting, yet scary time; it is our goal to work in partnership with families to assist them in their dream of homeownership.
