Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Positions

Site Host

This people-oriented position is responsible for greeting volunteers, collecting waivers, issuing name tags and answering questions about the Habitat mission.

Team Leader

This skilled volunteer position works closely with the House Leader to teach/guide small groups of volunteers on the construction site. Team Leaders assists the House Leader with the overall safety and productivity of volunteers. Trainings are offered once a year.

Hospitality

Hospitality is a great way for youth groups to help Habitat by providing breakfast or lunch to the volunteers on site. There are usually about 40 people on site to feed.

Office Angel

Volunteer assists with data entry, filing and/or copying. We also have a need in the Peoria ReStore office answering phones, scheduling pick ups and deliveries and helping store management with other office duties.

Habitat Ambassadors

Ambassadors assists staff at various events throughout the community. There is training once a year to update the ambassadors on the activities of Habitat.

ReStore

Volunteers greet customers, clean and test products, organize, load/unload donations.

Deconstruction Crew

These volunteers go out to homes that are going to be demolished and salvage any useable items to be sold at ReStores.


Committees

All committees meet once a month.

Faith Relations Committee

Committee members work with faith communities around the Valley to introduce them to Habitat for Humanity and/or strengthen their involvement with our affiliate.

Public Relations/Marketing Committee

Committee members work to increase the awareness of HFHCAZ in the community. Also advises the ReStores regarding merchandising, advertising, public relations, operations and any other activities related to help improve ReStore sales to further the Habitat mission.

Family Selection Committee

Committees assist staff with the homeowner application process. Committee members review prospective applications and conducts interviews for potential Habitat homeowners. Committee meets once a month and members interview families a few times a month.

Family Partner Committee

Committees assist staff with orientating new homeowners and mentoring the families during the construction process of their homes. Committee meets once a month and members meet with family on own time.
