Habitat Fall Internship 2009

Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona is currently seeking individuals to participate as interns with the affiliate during the fall of 2009. We have openings for four individuals on our Volunteer and Community Support Team.

Habitat to Showcase its Green Side

Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona will be highlighting its successes in green building and ReStore operations at the Southwest Build-It-Green Expo and Conference in March. The Expo will be held March 13th and 14th at the Phoenix Convention Center. The Expo is Arizona’s largest green conference with more than 500 exhibitors showcasing sustainable products and services.
Habitat’s display will educate conference attendees on the scope of its green building efforts. Case studies will highlight LEED Platinum builds, LEED certified subdivisions and the Energy Star program. The exhibit will provide educational material on green building standards in the affordable housing market and the guidelines Habitat has developed for green renovation work.
The exhibit will also feature the green efforts of the three ReStores, which sell new and gently used building materials and household goods at a fraction of the regular price. Proceeds support the Habitat mission. In addition to raising funds, the ReStores help the environment by recycling usable materials back into use and keeping them out of landfills.
