Make a Gift; Help a Future Homeowner; Get a Tax Credit
posted December 2009
Did you know a charitable tax credit is much more favorable to you as an Arizona State taxpayer? It’s true. The end of the year is just around the corner and a charitable tax credit can help reduce your 2009 Arizona tax liability. By making a gift to Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona you can help a future Habitat homeowner realize the dream of homeownership and receive a credit for what you would otherwise give to the state.
Qualifying for a tax credit has never been easier. Arizona tax law stipulates taxpayers can get a dollar for dollar tax credit of up to $400 on a joint return and $200 on a single return for charitable contributions made to qualifying charitable organizations. And … HFHCAZ qualifies! The previous base line year requirement has been eliminated although tax payers are still required to itemize deductions.
To learn more about how you can take advantage of the charitable tax credit and make a gift to HFHCAZ, please click here or call 602.262.8661.
As always, we suggest you first consult with your accountant, CPA or tax advisor.

Habitat Celebrates the Completion of Two Net Zero Homes
posted December 2009
HFHCAZ is proud to celebrate the completion of two net zero energy homes built in partnership with the Varela and Salazar families. These homes will produce through solar energy all the electricity the homes require to operate throughout the year. Habitat was able to share through the International GreenBuild Conference and Expo held last month the story and success of these two homes. It was one of Habitat’s goals going into these “deep green” builds to show that green building is being brought to those individuals that need its benefits the most. Through partnerships with Salt River Materials Group, Wells Fargo, the local USGBC chapter and many others, two more Habitat homeowners will be able to live a healthier, more comfortable and affordable life in their Green Habitat homes.
