Resource Development Interns

Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona is currently seeking individuals to participate as interns with the affiliate during the summer and fall of 2010. We have two openings for individuals on our Resource Development Team. The Resource Development intern will work in conjunction with the Corporate and Faith Relations Managers to ensure delivery of excellent customer service for Habitat for Humanity home sponsors. Habitat Leadership Trainings

We are looking for a few good Team Leaders, Habitat Ambassadors, Site Hosts and Office Angels. As we continue to grow, we need to find more volunteers who are willing to commit to a leadership role with Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona.

Team Leaders work with small groups of volunteers throughout the duration of the build season to complete the houses. The TNT program is open to any HFHCAZ volunteers over the age of 16 who have a strong desire to learn leadership skills and who are committed to the Habitat mission. No construction experience is needed. The Team Leader in Training class will be held on August 7th at 9a.m. at the Pheonix office.

If you enjoy talking to people about something you believe in, then the Habitat Ambassador role may be right for you. Ambassadors represent Habitat at companies, school and volunteer fairs to educate the public about who we are, what we do, and how individuals can become involved. This position is an on-call role, depending on when Habitat is invited to an event. The Habitat Ambassador training will be held on August 7th at 10:30a.m. at the Phoenix office.

Are you a morning person? Do you enjoy meeting new people? If this describes you, come to our Site Host training. Site Hosts are often times the first person volunteers interact with on the site. They make sure the volunteers are at the correct lot, collect their waivers, get them signed in and issue them a name tag. This position requires the commitment of two hours for at least half of the build. New Site Host Training will be August 14th at 10:30am.

Johnson Townhomes Building 9 in Surprise

Volunteer opportunities at our Johnson Townhomes project in Surprise will start August 3, 2010. We will be hanging drywall in the garages. Since it is a new build year, please remember to fill out a 2010-11 waiver, which will be in the build Site Host Books.

Our Volunteers are HOT!

We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all those volunteers that continue to help us as we hit triple digit temperatures. Volunteers have removed roofs, taken down old carports, roofed, painted, and landscaped at six different renovation projects in Glendale.

We also had some amazing volunteers from Luke Air Force Base help us clean up an 18-acre lot in South Phoenix. They came out on two different days to work in the heat to help us keep this property clean.
