Gifts from individuals work hand in hand with home sponsorship funding. They are used to purchase and develop land, buy products and tools for home construction and fund program expenses.
Your gift, regardless of amount, really does make a difference. For example, $20 pays for a 50 pound box of nails and $50 pays for a qualified and approved homeowner to attend a new homeowner education class.
Because HFHCAZ is a registered 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, all contributions are tax deductible. For every gift made, a formal tax substantiation letter is sent, which can be used as a receipt for tax purpose.
The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Law provides taxpayers additional incentive to make cash donations to qualified charitable organizations such a HFHCAZ. Donors who file a joint return may qualify for a dollar for dollar tax credit.

Cash gifts provide HFHCAZ with resources to purchase building materials while providing a donor with an immediate charitable deduction for the amount of the gift.
With more than 60% of Americans owning securities, individuals are making stock gifts, which provide income tax deductions for the full value of the gift while avoiding the potential tax on capital gains. Donors must notify HFHCAZ that a gift of securities has been made and request his or her broker perform an electronic transfer using the following information

Gifts of real estate and property helps HFHCAZ build more homes. Outright gifts of property, such as undeveloped land, or real estate, including a second home or vacation property that is not mortgaged and has appreciated in value, allows a donor to deduct the fair market value of the gift and avoid all capital gains taxes. Retained gifts, such as a personal residence or farm, allows a donor to continue using the property for their lifetime while receiving a charitable deduction based on life expectancy and property value.
Donated cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, RVs and other vehicles are sold and the funds raised help build simple, decent homes in partnership with low-income families. Vehicle donors receive an acknowledgement letter for their donation that may used for tax purposes if they itemize deductions. Vehicle, title and contact information is collected, and upon acceptance of the vehicle, arrangements are made for the vehicle, keys and title to be picked up.
